Funds directed to Napa-based WineBev Services to purchase new equipment- increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay (UCPNB) was notified that its grant request to the Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) had been approved. Developed to support UCPNB's Napa-based social enterprise, WineBev Services, the grant funding will be used to purchase a new taping machine. "The addition of this new piece of equipment will enable UCPNB to expand its service offerings at WineBev Services and increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities," said UCPNB Executive Director, Margaret Farman, on learning of the award. WineBev Services President, Mike Lisenko added, "the addition of the new taping machine comes at a very important time; the last quarter of each year is our busiest and previously we have had to turn away work we could have accepted- now we can take on this new work."
The Napa Valley Community Foundation serves as a catalyst for positive change in Napa County. Since 1994, the Community Foundation has served as a bridge between philanthropic families and hard-working nonprofit agencies, bringing people, ideas and resources together to enhance the quality of life in the Napa Valley community.
United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay (UCPNB), celebrating its 30th year, provides service to children and adults with disabilities in Napa, Sonoma, Solano, and surrounding counties. WineBev Services is a social enterprise initiative and is wholly-owned by UCPNB. WineBev Services provides packaging and repacking services to the wine industry and other area businesses. Founded in 2008, WineBev Services employs over 120 adults with disabilities at its Napa facility and at several Napa Valley wineries.
