Katie Lightfoot of Santa Rosa received the UCP National Outstanding Youth Award for her extraordinary volunteer work at Boost Camp - an intensive therapeutic four-week movement education program for children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities, sponsored by UCPNB.
Katie has volunteered at Boost Camp for the last seven years. She has worked 1:1 with the children through daily exercises dedicating over 100 hours each year. Katie is planning on going to Medical School after she graduates from University of Oregon. She wants to specialize in cerebral palsy and other gross and fine motor developmental disabilities. Her goal is to open up schools for children with cerebral palsy and other motor disabilities that will run year round instead of just one month in the summer.
In May, Katie attended the 2010 Annual Conference in Chicago to accept the award.

In September 2009, we received the prestigious “No Limits Award” at the National UCP Life Without Limits Celebration. The award recognized UCPNB for the development of WineBev Services as a model employment program serving adults with developmental disabilities.
Margaret Farman, Executive Director, accepted the award as UCP celebrated their “first sixty years and a forward looking program (UCPNB) to identify opportunities for business to realize and capture the potential that is represented by people with disabilities.”
